ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and passionate part-time HR Manager to lead our HR function on a 6 to 9 month parental leave cover contract, from approximately May 2026, working 3 to 4 days per week. This is a hands on leadership role working across the entire Viktoria & Woods business, including our Head Office, Retail and Warehouse environments.
In this role, you will lead a small and agile HR team, which includes a HR Business Partner – Retail, and ad hoc admin support. You will be responsible for the overarching HR strategy while providing high-level generalist support to a workforce of approximately 250+ employees.
Reporting to the COO and working closely with the Creative Director/Founder, you will:
- Leadership: Lead the HR function and provide mentorship and guidance to the HR Business Partner
- Strategy: Drive and implement the HR strategy and the people component of the Viktoria & Woods strategy.
- Advice & Coaching: Provide high-level advice, coaching, and support to senior leaders and managers on performance management, recruitment, remuneration, employment lifecycle, training and development, safety and wellbeing.
- Compliance: Ensure company-wide compliance with relevant Australian employment legislation, industry awards and standards, including award interpretation and application.
- Employee Relations: Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including grievances and investigations, as required.
- Project Management: Drive and contribute to key HR projects and the continuous enhancement of HR processes
- Policy Development: Lead the development, review, and maintenance of HR policies and procedural guidance.
- Administration: Oversee and undertake HR administration, record keeping and reporting as required.

YOU WILL BRING:
- Previous experience in a similar HR leadership role within a fast-paced environment and a lean team.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or relevant field.
- A strategic and operational mindset with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Strong knowledge and experience of HR best practices, Australian employment law, and complex case management.
- Impeccable written and verbal communication with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with ELMO HR & Payroll systems is highly regarded.
- Understanding of the fashion/retail industry or experience in Manufacturing/Logistics is advantageous.
